Lunch & Learn: Help! We’re so Short Staffed: Best Practices for Hiring and Retaining Your Workforce
May is National Mental Health Month. We want to recognize some of the amazing individuals who work at mental health and primary care practices in the District. From doctors and nurses to technicians and janitors, we want to showcase these front-line health care workers as a “thank you” for the work they do each day of the year.
Know someone deserving of this recognition or want to recognize yourself? Complete the form below:
National Minority Health Month
April is National Minority Health Month. This year, partners highlight the vital role individuals and organizations can play in helping to reduce health disparities and improve the health of racial and ethnic minority populations through the development of health policies and programs that will help eliminate health disparities.
This year’s theme is Give Your Community a Boost! The theme focuses on the continued importance of COVID-19 vaccination, including boosters, as one of the strongest tools we can use to protect communities from COVID-19, which has disproportionately affected communities of color.
Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, and American Indian or Alaska Native people are at increased risk of getting sick, having more severe illness, and dying from COVID-19. Give Your Community a Boost! also supports many other efforts in DC and communities across the country to advance health equity.
For more information on National Minority Health Month, visit the Office of Minority Health’s website.
ICYMI: Now Offering CE for Social Workers and CME
Integrated Care DC, though our partners at Health Management Associates (HMA), has begun offering social work continuing education credits.
Health Management Associates, #1780, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Health Management Associates maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 09/22/2021 – 09/22/2022. To earn CE credit, social workers must log in at the scheduled time, attend the entire course and complete an online course evaluation.
