Public Comment Period Now Open for 1115 Demonstration Waiver Renewal
The Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) intends to submit a five-year renewal request of the District of Columbia’s Section 1115 Demonstration to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for review and approval. DHCF is proposing to extend the current demonstration, focused on behavioral health, and implement an updated program design that broadens the focus to address social determinants of health. Prioritizing Physical and Mental Health During National Minority Health Month
Observed annually in April, National Minority Health Month serves as a useful reminder of the need to advance health equity and reduce health and mental health disparities for racial and ethnic minority and other diverse populations. This year’s theme, Be the Source for Better Health, serves as a call to action to ensure that all individuals have access to the supports and resources they need to achieve optimal health and wellness.
How can you better understand and address the physical, mental, and social determinants of health (SDOH) needs of at-risk populations, including Medicaid beneficiaries at greatest risk for adverse outcomes?
New Well-Child Visits Module Added to Pediatric Health Reports
A new Well-Child Visits module has been added to the Pediatric Health Reports in the PopHealth Analytics tool accessible through the CRISP DC HIE Portal. This module includes three dashboards: Well-Child Visits, Well-Child Visits Historical Prevalence, and Preventive Pediatric Healthcare Utilization. These dashboards cover recommended well-child visit schedules for children in different age groups, emphasizing the importance of regular visits for pediatric health monitoring.
The Well-Child Visit reports within the PopHealth Analytics tool offer pediatric providers comprehensive insights into their patients’ preventive care patterns, facilitating proactive management and timely interventions. By aligning with recommended visit schedules and tracking historical prevalence, providers can identify gaps in care, tailor interventions, and ultimately enhance the delivery of preventive pediatric healthcare.
