Integrated Care DC Launches a New Learning Collaborative for Medicaid Providers

We invite you to join our year-long learning collaborative where you will learn about Medicaid value-based payment (VBP) arrangements in the District of Columbia, how these VBP programs apply to your practice, and how to work toward improving care and outcomes tied to payment.

After engaging in an initial session to better understand VBP, participants will complete an assessment to facilitate enrollment into one of three content-specific tracks to deep-dive into improving a VBP metric:

  • Track 1: Pediatric Care
  • Track 2: Care of Acute and Chronic Conditions
  • Track 3: Maternity Care

Target Audience:
This learning collaborative is ideal for Medicaid providers interested but not participating in VBP with a Medicaid managed care plan (MCP) and those Medicaid providers already participating in VBP with an MCP.

To learn more, please join one of the initial sessions:

If interested, but unable to attend the June 11 or June 20 session, please provide your contact information and specify your interest in the Value-Based Care Learning Collaborative. We will follow up with you on additional opportunities to participate in the initial session.

For questions, you can also email us at support@integratedcaredc.com or visit our Value-Based Care Learning Collaborative webpage for periodic updates.

Men’s Health Month: A Focus on Wellness in the District of Columbia

June is Men’s Health Month, a vital time to highlight men’s health challenges and to promote strategies for better physical and mental well-being, including early disease detection and treatment. Men often overlook regular health checkups and are less likely to seek medical advice early, leading to higher rates of severe health issues.

In the District of Columbia, heart disease is the leading cause of death among men ages 15 years and over, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, followed by cancer and accidents or unintentional injuries, which include drug overdoses from the opioid epidemic.

The DC Department of Behavioral Health’s Office of Opioid Abatement has released a Request for Applications (RFA) for organizations in the District of Columbia to conduct opioid abatement activities based on the fourteen recommended areas of focus made by the Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission. “Opioid Abatement” refers to programs and activities that end or lessen the impact of the opioid epidemic. This grant will provide more tools to address the opioid epidemic. For more details, please visit the Office of Opioid Abatement website.

You can help inform Medicaid beneficiaries about renewing their Medicaid coverage and exploring other available health insurance options (if they no longer qualify for Medicaid, Alliance, or the Immigrant Children’s Program). Find training videos, meeting recordings, and a wealth of information on the renewal process on the DC Medicaid Renewal webpage. DHCF’s Stakeholder Communications Toolkit also has instructions for using the District’s online benefits portal, District Direct.
