This workshop is hosted by the Department of Health Care Finance, DBH Training Institute, and Integrated Care DC. It is intended for behavioral health providers and other organizations seeking to prepare for the upcoming carve-in of behavioral health to the District’s Medicaid Managed Care Program. To succeed in managed care, new organizational competencies are needed, including an understanding of managed care principles, how to communicate effectively with managed care partners, and how to effectively demonstrate the value of care through quality measurement and population health. This workshop will help leadership, clinical and operational staff, and other stakeholders increase knowledge and prepare for behavioral health integration.
In this learning collaborative, participants will learn about Medicaid value-based payment arrangements in the District of Columbia, how these apply to their own provider practice, and how to work towards improving care tied to payment. After this initial general session to better understand VBP, participants will select one of three content-specific tracks to deep-dive into improving a VBP metric. There will be four learning cycles which will run from July 2024 through May 2025. Come learn about this learning collaborative to help to improve care for your population and improve your provider practice’s financial stability!
